Tigray has long been the heart of Ethiopia’s cycling development, but for two years it was the centre of the civil war.
The Tour of Tigray serves as its premier cycling event, featuring eight stages that start and finish in some of the regions major cities. This was the second edition of the race since the war ended. Team Amani rider Tsgabu Grmay returned home to use the tour as training for upcoming off road goals and see who the next rising stars are from his country.
